Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these rules is to define matters regarding the editorial direction and standards of the academic journal of the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association (hereinafter the “Association”), the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal (hereinafter the “Journal”).

Article 2 (Editorial Board) To achieve the purpose of the preceding article, an Editorial Board (hereinafter the “Board”) is established.

Article 3 (Composition of the Board)

1) The Board consists of an Editor-in-Chief and 10–15 Editorial Board members appointed by the President.

2) The term of office of the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board members shall be two (2) years and may be renewed consecutively.

3) The Editor-in-Chief shall not be dismissed during the term of office against his or her will, except for a justifiable cause and through the resolution of the Board, so that the independence and continuity of the editorial function are guaranteed.

4) The Board shall be composed with due regard to diversity of academic specialization, affiliated institution, and country/region, in keeping with the international character of the Journal.

Article 4 (Qualifications of Editors) Editors must hold a doctoral degree and be researchers with expertise in qualitative research, full-time instructors or above at the college level, or persons with equivalent professional scholarly competence in the fields covered by the Association.

Article 5 (Editing Principles)

1) The Editor-in-Chief receives papers that have completed examination and convenes the Board for deliberation.

2) Editors classify examined papers by field and determine the number of papers to be published and the editing guidelines.

3) Editors check whether each paper complies with the Association's Submission Regulations and review the editorial details.

4) The examination of papers, including the selection of examiners, examination procedures, ratings, and objections, shall be governed by the Association's separate Manuscript Examination Regulations.

5) The Board shall manage the research and publication ethics of the entire submission, examination, and publication process in accordance with the Association's Research Ethics Regulations, including provisions on the use of generative AI.

6) If a paper scheduled for an issue cannot complete the supplementation procedure within the set period, it is automatically deferred until the procedure is completed.

7) A paper that has been published in, or examined by, another journal cannot be published in the Journal.

Article 6 (Number of Publications) The Journal is published twice yearly, as a rule, on June 30 and December 31. A special issue may be published when necessary by resolution of the Board, provided that the regular biannual publication on the dates above is maintained.

Article 7 (Miscellaneous) Matters not provided for in these regulations are determined separately by the Board.

제1조 (목적) 이 규칙은 아시아질적탐구학회(이하 “학회”)에서 발행하는 학술지 「Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal」(이하 “학술지”)의 편집방향과 기준에 관한 사항을 규정함을 목적으로 한다.

제2조 (편집위원회) 전 조의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 편집위원회(이하 “위원회”)를 둔다.

제3조 (위원회 구성)

1) 위원회는 회장이 임명하는 편집위원장 1인과 편집위원 10~15인으로 구성한다.

2) 편집위원장과 편집위원의 임기는 2년으로 하며, 연임할 수 있다.

3) 편집위원장은 임기 중 본인의 의사에 반하여 해임되지 아니하며, 정당한 사유가 있는 경우에 한하여 편집위원회의 의결을 거쳐서만 해임할 수 있다. 이로써 편집 기능의 독립성과 연속성을 보장한다.

4) 위원회는 학술지의 국제적 성격을 고려하여 전공·소속기관·국가(지역)의 다양성을 고려하여 구성한다.

제4조 (편집위원의 자격) 편집위원은 박사학위 소지자로서 질적연구 분야의 전문성을 지닌 자, 대학의 전임강사 이상인 자, 또는 학회의 분야에서 이에 상응하는 전문적 학술 역량을 지닌 자이어야 한다.

제5조 (편집 원칙)

1) 편집위원장은 심사를 마친 논문을 접수받아 편집위원회를 소집하여 이를 심의한다.

2) 편집위원은 심사완료된 논문을 분야별로 분류하고 게재편수와 편집방침을 정한다.

3) 편집위원은 학회의 「논문투고규정」에 합당하게 작성되었는지를 확인하고 편집에 따른 세부사항을 검토한다.

4) 심사위원 선정, 심사 절차, 판정 및 이의신청 등 논문의 심사에 관한 사항은 학회의 별도 「심사규정」에 따른다.

5) 위원회는 생성형 AI 사용에 관한 사항을 포함하여 투고·심사·게재 전 과정의 연구 및 출판 윤리를 학회의 「연구윤리규정」에 따라 관리한다.

6) 해당 호 게재예정 논문이 수정·보완절차를 기일 내에 행하지 못한 경우, 자동적으로 이 절차가 완료될 때까지 연기되는 것으로 한다.

7) 다른 학술지에 발표하였거나 심사의뢰한 사실이 있는 논문은 본 학술지에 게재할 수 없다.

제6조 (발간횟수) 학술지는 6월 30일, 12월 31일 연 2회 발간을 원칙으로 한다. 특별호는 위의 정기 연 2회 발간을 유지하는 범위에서 필요한 경우 편집위원회의 의결을 거쳐 발간할 수 있다.

제7조 (기타) 이 규정에서 정하지 아니한 사항은 편집위원회에서 따로 정한다.
